We started RV Envy to connect people to their dreams.

We’re Cory and Tara. We live in our RV full-time... and it’s nothing like camping!

When we tell people we live in an RV, many people conjure the image of an old VW bus overlooking the beach. Well, they got the beach part right. But that’s about where the similarities end.

The reality is that we live in a 45 ft long, multi-level RV with 6 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 3 TVs, wifi, voice controlled lights, 3 air conditioners, a fireplace, a residential refridgerator, an office with a standing desk, two patios, and an outdoor gas-powered barbeque.

We’ve spent the past year on the road visiting 23 states, logging over 10,000 miles, and finding the perfect work/life balance while living like we’re on vacation every day.

If your mental image of RV life is trailer parks or s’mores, I’m here to tell you there’s a whole lot more to it than that. Here’s a peek into modern day RV living, and trust me, it’s not what you think.

How we got started

A year ago, we decided to rent out our townhouse in Orange County and hit the road. While I’ve been fortunate enough to work remotely nearly all of my career, my wife was just ending a 6-year run at Houzz and was ready to be promoted to fulltime, stay-at-home “houzz-wife”.

But we weren’t super enthused about sitting in our 1300 sq ft townhouse all day. Being in the concrete jungle of Orange County has its benefits (access to great food, entertainment, a thousand coffee shops, etc), but it’s also incredibly limiting. It’s a rat race, it’s expensive, taxes are high, and it’s getting more crowded than ever. So we decided to start looking for an RV that would accomodate our lifestyle.

Why we chose the RV life

If you’re in a position to work from the road (or not work at all), RV life has a ton of benefits:

  • You're around people who are on vacation - many people in RV parks there to make memories with their families
  • See things you want to see, pick up and move when you want
  • Choose your own adventure
Have kids and want to let them run out their energy? Most parks are geared toward you.
No kids like us, and want some peace and quiet? There are actually plenty of options for 18+ RVers. Some family RV parks even have adults only pools and lounges.

RV options

For those who are new to the RV lingo, I’ll give you a quick overview. There are five main types of RVs to choose from, and each kind fits a certain lifestyle...
